These lamps are manufactured in France by Jieldé.



The lamps are always handmade in their workshop in Saint Priest, outside Lyon, using original fixtures. Jieldé is also a team of mechanics, metal founders, and painters, all working together to create a 100% French-made product. Vintage, modern, and timeless, the made-to-order Jieldé lamps are deeply rooted in their time. Their designs will continue to make the genius of the inventor shine, not only in France, but all over the world.

[History of Gilde since 1950 ]

Top engineer Jean-Louis Domecq, fed up with constantly repairing industrial rotating lamps in his machine shop, decided in 1950 to create a "sturdy, convenient, and easy-to-operate multi-purpose lamp". On a technical level, he eliminated wiring (which often leads to failure and prevents the lamp from rotating completely) by designing a wire-free joint. -the only manufacturing technique still in use today by Gilde, the company that owns this patent. The lamp's design (circular reflector, handling ring, and spherical joint) responds to the manufacturer's simple request for easy handling and the ability to clean the duster with a light tap. It became a standard feature in factories and offices around the world (over 1,500,000 sold since 1950) and a classic industrial lamp; in May 1985, it was included in the reference collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris under the title "Charming, Useful, Commonplace. In June 1985, the Standard Lamp was selected by the Agency for the Promotion of Industrial Creation for an exhibition at the Centre Georges Pompidou. Fascinated by the timeless beauty of the standard lamp, interior designers and stylists took it out of its industrial background and introduced it into the home.
